Back To School!!!!
Monday August 28, posted 5:50 pm
All the L.I.T’s have gone back to school, meaning everybody is very busy. The Boys and Girls has been very busy now that school has started. All the kids are doing alot of homework especially me. My name is Anthony Morgan and i am the vice president of the L.I.T’s program at Spalding Boys and Girls Club. Even thought its early in the school year we have been involved in many community activities. Such as the Humane Society program, community trash clean up, and a business trip. We can go on for days and days. We also have a new class called Money Matters taught by Andrea Ogura. Its a class that teaches us how to manage our money, the dangers of credit cards, also how to manage a bank account.

L.I.T Summer!!!!
Monday June 13, posted 4:47 pm
This morning at 9 am was our trip to BC Burrito’s in the Kaimuki area. There, L.I.T’s Benjamin Fernandez and Samantha Hong learned how to fill out job applications, how to conduct themselves at an interview , toured the restaurant and made their own burritos! Doesnt that sound fun?
Recently this month we had a slipper fundraiser at Old Navy. After fundraising we’ve collected over 1100 pairs of slippers! Now that the fundraising is done we are starting to hand them over to organizations such as The Salvation Army, Good Will, etc.
During the fundraiser I helped out two days, and I thought it was really fun. I like to help out with things like this because it will not only benefit me in a positive way but benefit the homeless and he needy. After everything was done i was still eager to keep the fundraiser going. It makes me feel good knowing that I’m helping those that need it most.
A/N(authors note): IM GOING BACKWARDS!!! :O
Recently this summer we had our L.I.T sleep over and barbeque. IT WAS GREAT!!
We had a lot of fun because we played tag, Wii, PS3, volleyball and watched videos. I think we should have another!
We also had our new set of teens complete their training with Smart Moves, a program to train youth/teens to make positive choices and to get to know facts about drugs, etc.
Coming this summer we have :
• Trip California Pizza Kitchen, which is taking place on 7/18/09
• Trip KCC for a campus tour, which is taking place on 7/23/09
• A business trip to get to know about business and trade taking place on 7/24/09
• For the club we have an Ohana Night for parents and guests to come and get to know what is occurring at the Club. Taking place on 7/24/09
Hopefully we have more exciting events. I do no want the summer to end!
